Fun Home in San Francisco

I was shocked when SHN announced their 16-17 season and Fun Home was not part of it

I mean Fun Home? Tony winner best musical? The Themes and topics? Not in SF?

Great news! Carole Shorenstein and the newly remodeled Curran theatre (now it appears no longer part of SHN since Carole parted ways with SHN a year ago) is hosting Fun Home starting January 2017!!!! woo hoo!

Will this mean Curran will host an entire season of touring musicals?

I don't know... Carole won all of her tony's producing plays, so my guess would be a program combining plays and musicals. I know her son is also involved in the business.

Either way its probably very good news for us bay area theatre fans other than more of the shn shows will be at the golden gate, which is on one of the worst few blocks in the tenderloin

Carole announced "Fun Home" as the opening show of the Curran season, so yes, there are plans for a season. (No specifics announced since). It remains to be seen what will be presented. When she announced the split from SHN, she mentioned that she was planning on presenting more serious or experimental works there.
