My Paris closes today at Goodspeed. Anyone hearing about a future for the show? Wasn't able to see it but the comments I have seen and the video on the Goodspeed website shows a very promising piece. Mara Davi won't be available for the foreseeable future but...Anyone have any info?

Saw the show on Saturday (despite horrendous traffic problems on I-95!) and loved the show. I felt Bobby Steggert gave a sensational performance and that the show has enormous potential for a NY run. If they can find a really intimate venue--and perhaps turn the theater into a cabaret-style seating arrangement, they might do well in NY.

I feel like My Paris and Little Dancer are similar. American in Paris too

My Paris, Little Dancer, and An Americab in Paris have nothing in common aside from being set in France.

Great point. Paris is the only common denominator.

thats not true at all. They all incorporate ballet with musical theatre and art. Clearly you have no ideaaaa

Stylistically, they're not similar. At all.
POTO and On The Town also incorporate ballet. So do on On Your Toes, Oklahoma, Carousel, and a The Band Wagon. Are those similar?
My Paris is also not a particularly dance-driven show.

My Paris is not ABOUT dance. It incorporates it (as most musicals do), but it is in no way about dancing like Little Dancer or AAIP

"thats not true at all. They all incorporate ballet with musical theatre and art. Clearly you have no ideaaaa"
How many of those three have you seen?

1 but guess what. You don't need to see them to understand the style. Ive seen a lot of clips from Little Dancer, and My Paris sounds and looks very similar. They are love stories that incorporate ballet and musical theatre with art. They are in the same vein as Sunday in the Park with George except with ballet. Plus the main characters are all kind of obsessed and fascinated with the leading lady

So, basically, they are all Oklahoma retellings set in Paris to throw us off?

My Paris is back up - playing the Long Wharf. From Broadway Buzz:
Buzzy New Tuner My Paris to Bow at Long Wharf
Hmm. We're keeping a close eye on this new musical—the team attached is simply stellar. After receiving a developmental staging at Goodspeed last year, My Paris, starring Broadway favorites Mara Davi and Bobby Steggert, has just gone into rehearsal for a run at Long Wharf Theatre May 4 through May 29. Directed by Tony winner Kathleen Marshall, the tuner features music and lyrics by Charles Aznavour (the "French Frank Sinatra"
, book by Tony and Oscar winner Alfred Uhry and English lyrics and musical adaptation by Tony winner Jason Robert Brown. My Paris follows the life and times of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, the artist who captured the gaiety, color and heartbreak of Montmartre, Le Can-Can and the world of Le Moulin Rouge.

I'm seeing it in Long Wharf next month. I really wanted to catch it in Godspeed but didn't make it so I'm glad there's another production happening!
