Posted: 10/30/04 at 10:51pmSo , by this point, it is no surprise that Close will be our next Desiree. And with Trevor Nunn, I'd venture to say we are in for quite a treat. But who else is going to flesh it all out. As far as the Armfeldt line goes, i think Zoe Caldwell would once again be a wonderful Madame Armfeldt. Anybody else see her in the LA Opera Production this past summer? Coincidentally, Caldwell has a somewhat odd cameo In Nicole Kidman's BIRTH, its never fully explained, but you are lead to believe she is Lauren Bacall's lesbian lover. Marc Kudisch was a fabulous Count Malcolm in the aforementioned production, i wonder if anybody else will be in it? What do y'all think? Updated On: 10/30/04 at 10:51 PM

Broadway.
The L.A. cast from this summer must've been amazing. It would be nice for a few of them to come back.
Also, Lansbury would do wonders with Mme. Armfeldt, but she's retired from theater. :sniff sniff:

*deep breaths* This is by far the most exciting news I have ever read! Oh my! I can't wait for 2006 now. I LOVE this show. It is the most beautiful score I have ever heard in my life.
Chrysanthemum is actually a tribute to Anne of Green Gables.

Posted: 10/30/04 at 11:06pmYeah , Pawk played a great Charlotte! Nailed the humor, and sang a great "Every Day A Little Death". She and Kudisch did a wonderful job playing off each other, there was less chemistry between Kudisch and Ivey, but plenty of animosity between Kudisch and Garber, who was quite the sad sight while he sang NOW in his long johns.

Posted: 10/31/04 at 1:42amI saw the LA production and would agree that the cast was outstanding. I'd love to see as many of them as possible in the NY revival.

Posted: 10/31/04 at 8:44amyes, it truly was, a dream cast. although i thought benanti's role was a little undercooked, but Henrick was spot-on.

Posted: 10/31/04 at 11:16amOooh, I've never seen Victor Garber on stage. I guess filming for Alias would interfere with his being in this production, though, huh? At least for any amount of time. Too bad.
