I had very low expectations for this play, since I didn't find "Art" by the same playwright very entertaining.
"Carnage" on the other hand, was quite engaging, and interesting and thought provoking eventhough it has a very simple storyline.
The acting was superb, Jeff Daniels is wonderful, a force of nature!
Dylan Baker is 1st class, perfect for his role.
Janet Mc Teer was quite funny, my friend said she overacted a little bit, which I can understand, but I enjoyed her a lot.
Lucy Liu makes a thrilling Broadway debut, I was surprised, she was quite amazing.
The cast was 1st rate. I had a great time!

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the show. I hope to see it soon. Were there any types of merchandise when you went? Also, is the Playbill in black and white?
The playbill is black and white, no clue about the merchandising, I didn't pay attention.
Sorry to dredge up an old post, but "God of Carnage" is getting a regional production in Seattle next season, and I was planning on including it as part of a season package. But before I do, my sister wants to confirm if there are any gunshots (or other related loud sudden noises) during the show, as she (and I) don't do too well with gunshots.
Thanks!
I don't remember any gun shots.
Thanks muscle23ftl.
I just found out that my local bookstore actually has a copy of the play in stock (surprise!). I may pick it up and read it really quick. I hate having to do this (and take some of the surprise out of the performance), but my sister (who is my usual theater "date") won't come with me unless I am sure there are no gunshots in anything we see.
There are absolutely no gun shots in God of Carnage.
