It's about a group of greedy theatre producers who put a ridiculously stupid show into a house where one of the best musicals to come to Broadway in the past 20 years was housed.

Did they pay the producers of Caroline to get out of the theatre or something? Or would you feel the same towards the O'Neill's next tenant, whatever it was?

If it could match what was in there now, I would still mind, but I wouldn't be as bitter. But to throw CAROLINE out for The new Beach Boys Musical is just nausiating.

I think Margo would agree with me on that one.

I agree with you too. Jukebox musicals may well signal the death of creativity on Broadway. But I was just curious, given your passionate love of Caroline, whether you'd still be bitter if it was being kicked to the kerb for a revival of Camelot with Carolee Carmello instead of this Beach Boys "musical".

Now how did you know that I would LOVE to see Carolee in CAMELOT??? But I adore that show and would be happy to see it's return.

It was a wild guess, Matt_G.

Idk, In my opinion a show should just hold out as long as possible and try something new, like autograph signings and stuff and try to hold out. Some musicals it seems just give up. Thats sad. Caroline was a good show, far better than a lot of the ones out

It would be nice if autograph signing and such could raise enough money or interest to keep a show alive. Unfortunately, the reality is that Broadway or even off Broadway shows cost big bucks (some cost half a million or more a week) and once the producers pull their support out, there is little the cast and crew can do to support the show. Sad, but true. The cast is given notice and that's that.

I agree - Caroline was a great piece of theater. Good Vibrations will scare most people away from American Musical Theater for life. People are taking this Mamma Mia / Movin' Out thing too far. In my opinion, it didn't even work for THOSE shows, and now they're bringing the Beach Boys into the mix? Boo!

Since no one actually answered the original question...

GOOD VIBRATIONS is a musical about The Beach Boys, or at least, a musical featuring their songs. According to rumor, Justin Guarini of American Idol is in the cast.

The play is about a group of teenagers who go on a life changing odyssey to the beaches of California. Beach Boys music is used but it is not about the Beach Boys. Justin Guarini and David Larsen headlined the cast at the Vassar workshop last month. From what I've read Justin was the surprise stand-out in the show but is not know whether he will appear in the Broadway production. Maybe someone going to the auditions this week can let us know if he auditions.

Oh no! And the sad thing is, this will probably have a fairly long run. Mamma Mia and Movin' Out are still running.

Just what we need, Possums - another compilation show...someone hand me the razor now so that I can die before Broadway does (which is happening even as I type...)

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!
