You make it happen, and it becomes a priority, not on the periphery, absolutely essential to life." -Alice Ripley -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "The sitting together of notes, the sitting together of words has by their very nature a puzzle aspect. I heard the Australian production will transfer to Broadway next season, which its self is a transfer of the West End Revival.

Apparently all the stars backed out because they needed to solidify some screen work before the WGA strike began.

Well...it's over. Can we get this back on track?

It wasn't the WGA strike that caused the issue. It was the SAG strike that might happen this summer. Since the four leads they had lined up were screen actors, they needed to finish wrapping as many films as possible before the strike.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

I had though it was due to the possible SAG strike as well. I was going to say that if it was due to the WGA strike then they would have had to wait for the potential SAG strike to blow over. But, that is no the case.

Michael Grandage may have more on his plate at any one time than any stage director in the world.

His schedule is diabolical.

He and Sir Derek Jacoby tried to squeeze the extraordinary "Don Carlos" into their calendars for a limited Broadway run but there was just no way to do. Right on the heels of that he was masterminding "Evita" (which opened to rave reviews) and "Guys and Dolls, which was similalrly regarded.

The guy is probably the best in the world rightnow. He does it all: Schiller, Loyd-Webber, or Frank Loesser, it doesn't matter: he looks at these things and turns them into critical and popular triumphs.

The man is not from this planet.
