Gavin will be doing his first Ars Nova concert next month. Here is all the info.
UNCHARTED, ARS NOVA's newest concert series presents...
GAVIN CREEL
JUNE 13, 2004 at 8pm and 11pm Ars Nova Theatre 511 West 54th Street (at 10th Avenue)
Tickets: $15
A mix of acoustic pop with an R&B/funk flavor, Creel is etching out a new sound that will undoubtedly make waves on the music scene. Collaborating with Creel are industry greats David Cook, Robbie Roth, Adam Roberts, and John Clancy.
Focusing on emerging talents who have yet to break the Billboard 100, this new Ars Nova series, UNCHARTED, sets out to cover a wide range of styles while providing music lovers and industry taste-makers an introduction to exciting new music.
Ars Nova is committed to offering an intimate platform to performers, composers and lyricists who wish to explore new, original material in a comfortable setting in front of a live audience.
GAVIN CREEL most recently finished his run as Hollis Bessemer in the world premiere production of Stephen Sondheim's bounce. Creel received a 2002 Tony nomination for his portrayal of Jimmy Smith in the musical Thoroughly Modern Millie. He has appeared in the off-Broadway cult favorite Bat Boy as Rick/Lorraine, the City Center Encores! production of Hair, and will be appearing with Second Stage's The Mystery Plays as Joe Manning an others which also was performed with Yale Repertory Theatre this past spring. A BFA graduate of the University of Michigan, Creel also starred in the American premiere of Honk!, toured the nation in Fame as Nick, and participated in various New York workshops including Spring Awakening, Hairspray, and Wicked. His television credits include Eloise at the Plaza and the upcoming Eloise at Christmastime, both starring Julie Andrews. Creel is a proud member of the Broadway Inspirational Voices. He is currently writing songs for this forthcoming album, collaborating with David Cook, Robbie Roth, and producer Kurt Deutsch. Look for upcoming demo tracks on this site.
