Gay Pride Month

In most cities, we celebrate LGBT pride in June. ( Here in NC, we wait until September till the temps cool down.). At any rate, what is your favorite Gay theater piece. Mine is Torch Song Trilogy. I went to see it at the Little Theater knowing very little about the playwright/actor. Shortly after he opened his mouth, my partner and I soon realized that he was the very same loudmouth--we had dubbed him frog mouth-- who used to parade into our little neighborhood bar, The Last Resort, on 2nd Avenue between 9th and 10th Streets, and commandeer the place. Sucked the life force out of that tiny bar.

After seeing the show, I became a life long fan of Harvey. If memory serves me, I think he and entourage made a stop at The Last Resort after the Tony ceremony after winning Best Play.

THE MARVIN MUSICALS, without a doubt. And I prefer them done one at a time (so the actors don't have to save anything for the second act), but I'll go see any production of FALSETTOS.

Angels in America. I saw such a powerful production in Chicago years ago, I have never wanted to see it again, so not to ruin the membory.
