I love the "I'm Not That Girl" suggestion!!! Whenever I hear that song, I sing along, imagining that I'm singing it to a guy I love who's fallen for a girl and if only I could be her, he might love me too! Excellent idea, singingbackup!
It wasn't written as a gay song, but I think "Til Him" from The Producers would be a beautiful gay song. (Keep it Gay is funny but 'Til Him is beautiful.)
Please consider "Love Who You Love" from A Man Of No Importance. Another song that is not "gay" per se, but is a beautiful song about living and loving without apologies. A gay sensibility for sure. It would work wonderfully sung in a gay context.
You will with me from the full monty...it's not a gay song, but is song by two gay men in the show and is a beautiful song

Wow guys these are great thanks so much!
I was thinking about checking my college library for scores before i make a definate choice, but yes i considered I'm not that girl" and i cant fit it in my range...which irritates me sooo much!
Magic8ball is being a star and hopefully is sending me a score for a song, and just in case i was thinking.....
who knows, "You will never get into this restaurant" from The Thing About Men???
It would rock especially the line -
"Wait, what did you say? Did you call me gay? Well 'Tooshay'what gave it away?!!! "
just dont think I'll be able to find the score :'(
hmm i will go check the library and see whats available to me!

"It's Never That Easy/I've Been Here Before" as done in the cds Stage1 and/or Stage2. Some of the male versions of Broadway songs on those recordings are bad or cheesy, but that one stood out for me.
