Anyone going to the final performances of WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN tomorrow? Post your thoughts and memories of the show here.
I saw the show back in October the week after previews started and I still say the show was a lot of fun in spite of being such a mess. I'm glad I got to see it as now it will become another "Not since 'Carrie'..." nugget of Broadway flop goodness. :)
I really enjoyed the show. I was very sad to hear that it was not extending, and especially disappointed when I heard it was closing about a month early. WOTV was a lot of fun. Was it something you went home and contemplated and analyzed in depth? No. But it was a lot of fun and a good evening of laughs and some pretty fantastic performances from some Broadway legends. Loved Patti LuPone, thought she played the "crazy" part perfectly- didn't come off too over the top with it. I was heartbroken for her during her "court scene" and during "Invisible". Laura Benanti stole the show, in my opinion. Her fondling of the "duck" throughout the show was a highlight, as was her "Model Behavior". Glad to hear that a cast recording is indeed happening.
This cast is amazing, the show is fun and most of the music quite enjoyable. I am sad it's closing early, but happy the cast recording is happening.
I saw it in early December and LOVED it... I also saw the flaws. It only make me like it more
