Hey guys,
I was looking for January tickets for Gentleman's Guide. I really want to see this show and want it to be the last one of my 2-week/13-show NYC trip ! What I thought was really odd and I would like your help in this, is that Premium Tickets for Front Row are $100 LESS than 2nd row and back. I thought it might have to do with restricted view but I looked at photos and it looks to me that the stage is really low and front row is fantastic ! I did read that the two male leads are big spitters but I hardly believe this would be the cause of $100 discount.Gentleman's Guide Front Row much cheaper than 2nd ? Your Help needed !

In Beautiful also, front row is cheaper than the rows behind it but not by THAT much.

Anyone knows why is this in GG and can tell me if I will enjoy the show from there or if there is a significant reason not to, since I am ready to get my ticket ???

Thank you

Front row is fine, many theaters don't consider the front or second row to be premium since you are a bit too close to the action, and it is slightly better to be a few rows back... but I often buy that row to save money.

I saw GG from the second row, and wished I had been in the front row, as they seemed to have more legroom.

I'd go for it. Not sure about Bryce, but yes, Jefferson is a bit spritzy.

Yes, definitely get the front row seats. I sat in the 5th row, and the stage is small and short. You will not have any trouble seeing from the front row. In fact, I am seeing it again in the spring and I already bought front row seats for myself since they were much cheaper than the premium seats.

There is a dining room scene in which 2 of the characters purposely spit at each other while they speak and sing, so yes, you could be spit on in the front row.

Yeah I sat front row for GG and it's REALLY close. At one point, I could've reached out and grabbed Bryce Pinkham's boots if I wanted to (not that I would lol.) You'll be able to see perfectly, but a more "ideal" seat would be fifth/sixth row so the actor's aren't standing on top of you. I would take front row though.

"Now, would I push my luck, if I also ask if front row is good for Beautiful???"

I did front row, side orchestra, aisle for Beautiful, and can't recall having any issues. with things being too high/close/etc., seemed fine.

"a more "ideal" seat would be fifth/sixth row so the actor's aren't standing on top of you."

Which is why those cost a lot more... Gentleman's Guide Front Row much cheaper than 2nd ? Your Help needed !

At first I thought the GG's were representing GREY GARDENS, seeing that it played the same theater and GENLEMAN's GUIDE is usually abbreviated GGLAM.

I sat front row for Gentleman's guide, left Orchestra, and the view was fine. If you sit in the front row in the middle of the Orchestra, you will definitely get spit on. Both Bryce and Jefferson spit a lot, when they are singing or talking. I did not get spit on because they were never that close to me as they were to the middle Orchestra (due to staging and the way the set is set up), but there were times that I felt close enough to them that I could touch them though (but of course, I would never do that!).

If you are okay with giant gobs of saliva being sprayed at you for two and a half hours, by all means get the front row. We sat there, and when the usher led us to our seat, he said "welcome to the splatter zone!" He wasn't kidding. They should provide that row with free ponchos. The two male leads are the biggest spitters on Broadway right now.

A bit too close to see everything really well. Also saliva.

Sat in front row orchestra and it was fine. But yes, be careful with saliva. Thankfully I was quite lucky and didn't get any on me.

Thank you all. The whole spitting thing sounds so funny, I can't stop smiling. I wouldn't mind a little from Bryce but from Jefferson...not so much LOLOL
Right now, my options on Telecharge are Front Row Center for $185.50, 2nd-8th Row Center for $285.50 and Front Row Right Orchestra Aisle seat for $150.50.
Based on what you all advised, I think I'll go for the Right Orchestra Front Row Aisle. The best price (same as last rows and side seats), great sightline (hopefully), right next to Center Orch and no spit !!!! Gentleman's Guide Front Row much cheaper than 2nd ? Your Help needed !

Just wanted to clarify, if your aisle seat is the one at the far end, you might miss a bit of the projections in the show (located at the back of the stage). I sat at the second to last or third to last seat from the extreme sides of the front row, and missed a bit. But it did not take anything away from the show for me, so it's not that big of an issue in my opinion. (And I think that's why I was not spit on at all) If you are sitting on the aisle closer to center Orchestra, then that's a great seat! But you might not be completely spit-free, haha... Honestly, I do not remember, but the splatter zone is definitely in the center orchestra!
