Says he's directing a new play to star Nathan Lane and it will happen this winter. Could Lane become the only actor to win two Tonys in a play and a musical? Stiff competition, however, from Cranston and Jeff Daniels, who's never won. Sounds like a Rudin production.

I don't know whether you're using "actor" to refer only to men, but Audra McDonald has won at least two of each.

I know you said "new" play, but could he be directing Death of a Salesman with Lane and Laurie Metcalf? That's the last Lane rumor I heard.

Is Joe Mantello part of the production too? In this interview back in April (skip to 24:30) Lane states it's an 'ongoing discussion' to do Death of a Salesman with Laurie and Joe.
