If they do, call and inquire when they expect to have it available and if you're comfortable with whatever time table they give you, go ahead and order it. My experiences with them have been very positive.

Musicalkid....I totally agree on finding the English text to the songs. It does make it more enjoyable to listen to to know what it's going on, especially if you dont the lyrics word to word from the original movie score. Sadly I do because it is my fav Disney movie hehe!
The other thing I agree with is your signature, Disney's Hunchback MUST come to Broadway!!! And I hope it does before I am dead and gone.

By the way, the recording is fantastic, the stage show was not that great.

They had all the film versions, but not the play.
I emailed the British site to see if it was in fact the Disney version. Here's to hoping anyways...

Yes the german hunchback musical is the same as the disney, there is another version from france called "notre dame de paris". This is not the disney version but the real musical version, and they are really diferent. I really like both shows!

I thought the cast was great and, of course, the music. But I can't say I was thrilled with the production. Set design was lame and the show was quite boring. And my heart went out to the gargoyles who were looking pained and awkward in stationary positions.
If it were to come to Broadway, I would redo the entire production design and not directly translate from the German book. But then again, the show may not do as well on Broadway as other Disney shows. This one isn't as family oriented. I think the film is honestly one of the darkest of Disney. Full of dark themes of murder, lust, religion. But who knows.

Posted: 7/29/06 at 6:22pmThey should already have an English translation. The cast had to learn it in both German and English.
