Nope, she wasn't as sure a thing as Ms. Ebersole is. Her reviews were not as unanimously incredible and some predicted that LaChanze would win.

Laura Bell Bundy was mosstly nominated because they needed a new face in the actress category. Even if it wasn't a tough year, she wouldn't be winning.

No, she won't win. Even if the top three split the votes, Bundy would have to receive more votes than Monk to win.

While Bundy winning is a near impossibility it would ALMOST be worth it just to imagine the fits, foaming and reaching for sharp objects that would surely go on here and at ATC. Moreover, it would prove once and for all how undeniably meaningless and political the Tonys are in general. I think there are going to be a few big surprises next Sunday and since most of the rest of the free world will be watching the Sopranos I'll look forward to reading all the 'told you so' and 'I'm never going to support Broadway again' threads that are sure to ensue ad nauseum.

Well, I haven't seen "Grey Gardens". However, I've read such good things about Christine Ebersole that I hope she does win the Tony. After all, someone has to break the "Audra is nominated this year and usually wins the Tony" curse (?). Audra McDonald is like the Hilary Swank of Broadway... just ask Annette Bening. from Roman in Austin, Texas.. T.O.P.L.F.

Audra didn't win for Marie Christine. It was her fifth nomination and first time not winning.

That doesn't add up Becoz. I think it was her fourth nomination and first time not winning. It couldn't be her fifth because it was before Raisin in the Sun-her fourth Tony. Sorry, it was just bothering me.

No she wasn't. A lot of people expected LaChanze to take it but then there was also a lot of hype around Patti's performance. But neither performance compared to Christine's performance, so it wasn't as big of a suprise when LaChanze won. Does that make sense?

No, Becoz, Squire was being a jerk about grammar. Technically, you're supposed to write "you're right" as in "you are right". You wrote "your right", which is usually written in a possesive sense such as "your right arm". Squire was doing what some annoying people do and try and point out a grammar mistake.
