I'm looking on the Festival website, and they have a great section with extensive directions for getitng there via almost any mode of transportation you can think of, but they don't say how long the trip takes. Before I start looking into busses and trains, I'd like to know if it's even feasible. Can someone tell me about how long it takes to get there from NYC, by bus, car, or train?

Thanks!

ETA -- I'm an idiot. It says it's about three hours by car. But has anyone made the trip by bus or train?

I imagine if you reach someone at Greyhound (or whatever bus line goes up there) at the Port Authority bus terminal, they will have schedules which wil tell you departure and arrival times.

luv, try calling the box office. Williamstown is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. The closest city is Pittsfield and I am not to sure if any buses run between the two.
But please let me know when you are going, RC and I are planing to see at least one show this season.

Amtrack (800-USA-RAIL) via Pittsfield or Albany is not an easy trip.

But Peter Pan Bus Lines (888-751-8800) (includes Bonanza) runs a daily trip from New York Port Authority.

BY BUS
Bonanza Bus Lines (888-751-8800) offers bus service between Williamstown and New York City, Boston and many other major cities. In Williamstown, Bonanza stops at the Williams Inn, just one block from the Festival.

p.s. About a five hour trip. Fare may still be about $40 one way.

Yes, it is. I've been meaning to make a trip up there for a couple of years, so Our Town gives me a good reason to actually go. I read the play in high school. I don't remember it that well, but this seems like a perfect role for him. I said that Cincinnati was the one and only time I'd travel, but it's summer (perfect for road trips!) and this much closer. I think I may go up.

Anyway, I looked up the bus and train information because I was too excited to sleep, and both of them were pretty expensive. Unless there's some cheap option I somehow missed, I think I'd have to drive.
