But no one bought a Gigi ticket in these examples AFAIK, so it would be easier to switch out a different show through Telecharge, and then buy the Gigi ticket for the day that works through Ticketmaster. Telecharge just tends to be easier to work with on this stuff... so I'd keep Ticketmaster out of the loop, if possible.

There is a Ticketmaster Broadway phone line that is better about swapping stuff than the regular operators, although I did have quite a time with Ticketmaster trying to explain that I wanted to buy a new seat with the same discount code that was better than the old seat with a discount code, and they kept going on about but you only paid $89 for the first ticket, and the new ticket costs $155, etc. I eventually gave up and just stopped by the box office on my way to a different show.

Yes I agree, telecharge is easier to work with. Haterobics idea to just switch a telecharge show and not even involve ticketmaster is the the best option.

That should be solved in 5 minutes ... telecharge will call the box office, authorize a refund, process the refund for Friday or whatever day you choose to cancel, and then let you purchase tickets for the same show for Thursday, thus freeing up a show time for Gigi.

JPeterman and Haterobics: thank you both for your good ideas. I followed both of your suggestions and Telecharge kindly allowed me to move one of their shows to another time slot, freeing up a slot for Gigi. And the Visit does have thursday evening 8pm shows, so it all seems to have worked out. Hopefully the weather and travel gods will cooperate. :)
