I think Mandy Patinkin is amazing on The Wild Party CD. I wish I could have seen him perform. Has anyone here seen him in TWP?

Anyway, I think he does a great job in Gin/Wild.

I saw him. I generally don't like mandy Patinkin but I must say the Wild Party and Sunday in the Park with George is his best theatrical work. I mean he truly scared the crap outta me in the Wild Party. TRULY amazing and offensive (which is exactly what that role should be). I honestly can't imagine anyone else tackling that role the way he did.

Yep, The "Gin/Wild" Mandy is totally different from what we're used to. His performance is phenomenal.

I was listening (well, have been) and see him playing Jekyll and Hyde -

Maybe...as far as acting goes..

One reason I like LaChiusa's Wild Party is because Mandy Patinkin is really effin' creepy as Burrs. He's great.

well I think Stokes got the award that year because he was passed over for Ragtime really. stokes was good though. I think LaChiusa was passed over for score. Ok Ummmm Elton John won for Aida...WHAT?!!

i think aida's score is better than both wild party's. but um. i hate mandy's voice. his burrs is the only thing i'll listen to him do. it's so "un-mandy"... but normally i hate him.

aida's score doesn't come close. It's few pop songs and not really fully integrated. John got the award cause Aida was going to make more money.

I used to like Aida...but TWP (LaChiusa's) is so much better.

Even Lippa's is somewhat better.

Plus, the wild party's story is so much better...

i think la's is better than li's. and i really really like la's. but i think aida's is much stronger. just my opinion.

I saw LaChiusa's THE WILD PARTY several times. Brilliant. Mandy was especially strong.

tonya was great! listening to her sing Black is a moocher while seducing Mandy was A-MA-ZING. also Eartha Kitt is a stand out too!

LaChiusa's shows are amazing for many reasons, but one really important reason is he psychologicaly gets into the charecters through the music..... i'd like to see Elton do that ( i did like Aida but no where near close to The Wild Party).
