I heard that this song was meant to be in Thoroughly Modern Millie. Is that true? And Who sang it in the show and how did it fit in the plot? Just interested

The song was written for Chenoweth to sing in TMM but something came up and she didn't do the role.

She was supposed to be Miss Dorothy when it was in California but she turned it down for a tv job and she was in the workshop for it.

It is a clever concept for a song...

But I loathe the "STTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP" part towards the end.

Kristin WAS originally supposed to be Miss Dorothy. Then, they asked her to read for Millie and she did and they gave her Millie. Her TV show then prevented her from continuing with the show, as another poster siad..
