As someone with a passion for Brooklyn, I've lurked quietly on this message board reading the reactions to the music and the chatter about this show. Some of you are so excited and supportive of this new show and incredibly, some are already slamming it. But unless you've actually seen Brooklyn in Denver last year, none of you have even a clue of what to expect. Brooklyn is unlike anything you have ever seen on Broadway. You are seeing snippets, bits of storyline, a few songs, sketches of costumes - all of it out of context. I ask you to reserve judgement until you have had the opportunity to see this production come together. Come to the Plymouth Theatre with an open mind. Most of you will not be disappointed (although I'm sure a few will dislike the show entirely.) These message boards are a great way for all of us with a passion for theatre to voice our opinions, likes, and dislikes about Broadway shows. But for God's sake, let it open, give it a fighting chance before you tear it to shreds. I know I'm repeating myself but Brooklyn is something different and special.

I will absolutley give the show a chance, but I do see why some other posters are worried about it spawning the same kind of overwhelming following as that other show that causes such a stir around here. I can't wait to see the show (I'm forgiving that one dissapointing clip I heard) but I'm hoping it's fans on this site will have a little more self control than... well, you all get my drift.

Brooklyn IS an amazing musical, and even though 4 songs can give you something to be excited about, those 4 songs that were performed at Bryant Park are NOT the only 4 songs in the show. Also, the show is more then just songs. Just because you didn't like one of them, or you thought it was too sappy or fairy tale-like or whatever, does NOT mean you can just bash a show you've never seen. Say you don't like a song. But there is no possible way to say you don't like the show. Have you seen the show? Do you live in Denver? If you do, then you can say whatever the hell you want, but until you see it, there is no way you can hate it.

Brooklyn Bound is right, it's NOTHING like anything you'll ever see, and it is amazing, and even though it will not appeal to some of you, it will appeal to a lot more. Yes, you should see the show, and yes you should be excited, but to those of you that are bashing it, yes, you should also give the show a chance. You'll definately regret it if you don't.

You know it and you want it... you just can't believe you've got it.
