When you give someone theater tickets as a gift, how do you present them? Fancy envelope? The gift card holders are too small to hold tickets. I'm thinking maybe a nice envelope in a gift bag with some tissue paper but I'm open to suggestions. What have you all done in the past?

What a great gift giver you are! This may sound tacky but usually when I give theatre tickets, I buy something inexpensive that represents the show. Example: for Rent i bought a little candle...and put in the tickets along with it in a gift bag. Hope this helps :)

I like to do a cute little tie in gift too, and either put them in the bag or wrapped in with them. For example:

When I gave my family tickets for "Hedwig and the Angry Inch", one person got a cheap dollar store wig in a small cardboard box ("Wig in a Box"Giving tickets as a gift, someone got a Sugar Daddy candy ("Sugar Daddy"Giving tickets as a gift and someone got a copy of "Dexter" with a TV tie in cover (we were going to be seeing Michael C. Hall as Hedwig). They then guessed what we were doing, and I presented the ticket envelope.

This year, I'm gifting "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" tickets, so I got a giant candy bar and was going to tape the envelope to the back of it and open it up.

Since it lacks excitement OPENING something like that, I've made a puzzle gift....where the recipient had to put the puzzle together to figure out the gift.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I'm with the others. Usually give/receive a small themed gift with the tickets. Couple years ago my friend gave me a chocolate cake with Matilda tickets. Was very cute.

The tickets are for a family that I'm close friends with to go see Wicked here in Orlando. What could I give with the tickets? A witches hat?

For Wicked you could include a copy of the Cast Recording or a maybe copy of the book.

I've seen some cute Wizard of Oz ornaments at places like 5 Below that could work. Or be practical and get a broom Giving tickets as a gift

I agree with the ornament suggestion! A wicked witch ornament would be so cool to include with the tickets. They also sell them at Amazon.
