Did anyone else see it?
I loved it. Idk there's something about this material that really lands with me (having previously only listened to the OBCR). I thought the cast was superb and loved getting to hear the dialogue for the first time.

I was there last night. The cast was great all around. I thought Colton Ryan really stood out, but they were all very good.
Having only ever listened to the OBCR as well I was struck by how....not great the show is, especially as far as the book goes. The plot ambles along and what seems like a major plot point is tossed aside and by the end characters just kinda leave and the show ends? Very strange. Certainly would need a MAROR re-write for 2024, I don't think "We've got girls by the balls" is a sentiment that would go over well.
The score has some nice songs though and I'm glad to have heard them live.

I mean for me the show works. I agree that the book is imperfect (particularly the whole setup of the "prank") but i think the arc of Will being excited to bring his friends back together than one by one the group dwindles works. I feel like "Girls by the balls" is dopey teenager speak and not really an offensive thing but idk. I thought the convo about Will having used to be fat as the more problematic moment. What I found fun about the book was seeing just how mid 2000s it is (the Facebook conversation was hilarious). I just think the score is so great too.
