I just got back from watching God of Carnage for my birthday. The show was very interesting to say the least. There were a bunch of surprises and moments that made me just say, “Ohmigod, did THAT just happen?”

Also, it’s a shame that a show will be closing, but I understand why since about one-fifth of the whole mezzanine was full. Before the show, the ushers let people move forward. It was a good view, but still would have preferred to sit in the orchestra to get a closer feeling to the show.

I was lucky to see all the leads perform in a matinee. I guess Lucy was finished filming that movie I heard she was doing and wasn’t able to perform in matinees. Is that why there are two Annette/Veronica understudies?

Dylan Baker: He seemed to be the weakest out of the four. All though he did have some hilarious moments, his performance was probably the most forgettable. The best part of his performance was how he acted after the incident with his “gadget.”

Jeff Daniels: It’s no wonder why this man got a Tony nomination. I do wonder how the show would be if he was still playing Alan. To anyone who has seen him play both, which was the better role for him? Between him and Baker, he really showed both sides of the main emotions in the show. BTW, he sweats a lot. Hehe!

Lucy Liu: She made a wonder Broadway debut. I hope she gets to do a few more plays, or musicals (you never know), on Broadway for a while. I’m glad that she’s closing out the show. *SPOILER* How the hell was she able to throw up like that?!!!! As soon as I saw that happen, I freaked out. Someone please tell me so I can trick my friends into thinking I’m not feeling well. *END SPOILER*

Janet McTeer: The highlight of the show. My family was surprised to know that she was putting on an American accent. Her performance was just a 5 star performance, to me. Thank you to Actors’ Equity Association for “transferring” her to New York.

This play is so well written that I now understand why people want an all-something cast. For me I’d like to see the show with a cast of consisting a couple that is 40 to 50 years old against a young couple that’s aged around mid-20’s. I don’t know how I got that idea, I just did. *SPOILER* I just wish I knew how the problem was solved. If it was, I guess I wasn’t paying too much attention. *END SPOILER* I’m pretty sure that there is a book or a script out there of the show. If anyone knows where I can buy one, please tell. They weren’t selling anything as merchandise. Also, does anyone what “type” of music that they play during the curtain call and rise of the curtain?

Overall, the show was lovely. There were some parts that I couldn’t relate to or hating hearing - especially that part where Michael says that kids are a horrible thing. That made me feel sad as all of the adults were laughing so hard. If you haven’t seen the show yet, go. Please fill up those seats before it closes. Hopefully, the will be as the closing date is coming near.

4 out of 5. Have a great day!

Daniels was extremely good as "Alan" but, I felt he truly excelled with "Michael." I disagree with your assessment on Baker; I found him everything but forgettable. Two solid marriages between actors and roles here.

I agree with what you say about Lucy, her Broadway debut is one debut that should be celebrated, she is truly wonderful!!!

Jeff Daniels was excellent in the play I thought, and so was Dylan Baker.

Janet was the weakest actress in my point of view, but she was still pretty good.

Kev: Let me correct myself - obviously, Dylan Baker wasn't completely forgettable, but he just seemed to be the least liked character in my opinion.

As others have said on this board, the current cast may be the strongest of them all. Pity it has run out of steam.

Faced with these Loreleis, what man can moralize!
