Eric & Corey cover all the male roles and Joaquina and Julia cover all the female roles.
Corey is probably going on for Wallace unless Nick is going on for Judas and Corey is going on for Nick.

Corey Mach is on for Wallace Smith as Judas.
wdwfreak, does Nick Blaemire cover Judas as well in addition to his regular track? It would seem that he's the only principal to do so, if that's the case.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.

Posted: 11/20/11 at 1:47pmI'm not a 100% sure since none of the understudies are listed in the playbill, but I would imagine they have some kind of back-up in the cast just in case something happens.

I would think the "back-up" is that the other male swing is the second cover for the same track.
GODSPELL is the type of show where they could always have different people sing the songs and do the dialogue normally done by other people and cut whole tracks all together if they were in a pinch.

Posted: 11/20/11 at 5:25pmI believe that the statement that the male standbys cover all the male roles and same for females may be oddly untrue. If I heard correctly I don't think that Jaoquina covered Celisses track because she does not play the ukelele. Therefore only julia covered celisse and since she was on for morgan the only female was Jaoquina. I believe she had to learn the track overnight and for when celisse usually plays the uke someone else played it i think while she still sang the song. Of course now I'm sure they have probably fixed it to make the prior statement true that everyone covers all the tracks.

Posted: 11/20/11 at 6:01pmJust got back from the matinee. Corey was on for Wallace. It was my first time seeing the show so I have nothing to compare it too. But I wasn't impressed by Mach at all. It was his first time on so I understand that he's not comfortable in the role yet. He was just very bland in my opinion. But I'm sure he'll grow with more time on.

I saw Joaquina go on for Celisse last week. She still did not play instruments. I think Corey and Julia are the only understudies that play instruments. The band just covers the lack of additional instruments. For example, Charlie the conductor accompanied Joaquina on piano where Celisse usually accompanies herself on ukulele. Joaquina still played the djembe though.
The four swings cover all roles. They are the first and second covers for all actors.
