I'm upset that Heath and Michelle didn't win, but I'm so glad that Brokeback Mountain won best picture, best director, best song, and best screenplay. It deserved it so much.
Brokeback was the movie to beat this year. And it didn't disappoint.

Marc Platt (producer of Wicked) won an award for Empire Falls. I was extremely happy that Memoirs of a Geisha won Best Score. Williams deserved it so much for that film. The music was splendid.

Folks always seem to forget about S. Epatha Merkerson. She's a highly respected Tony nominated actress and long time TV star. And she actually won a major award!
Geez people, why is it so impossible to notice anything or anyone other than people who are connected to RENT?
You don't have to HATE Rent to notice that there are other people with theater backgrounds that were actually at the Globes.
Sorry for the rant, but why are people so myopic about Awards shows?

If only it had been for "40 Year Old Virgin."
But his speech was awesome.
I'm kinda bitter Mel didn't win best song. Watching the clip of it, I realized how good it is.

I was thrilled for S. Epatha Merkerson, as well as Mary Louise Parker! It was also great to see Jesse and Rosario. Jesse even talked about Rent on the red carpet, which had me excited.
I'm a major cheerleader for both Brokeback Mountain and Walk the Line, so I was quite happy with the evening. However, where was Mr. Gyllenhall last night? I was disappointed that he wasn't there.
I was SO excited when Marc Platt won! He is SUCH a kind and generous man that I've had the pleasure of spending some time with.
There were also some pretty amusing speeches this year. Gena Davis, Hugh Laurie, and Steve Carell were a few I enjoyed.
I love award shows :)

Her Emmy and Globe acceptance speeches were both so beautiful and well-crafted. That and she's the only reason I watch "The Women." I find her story-line the most true and believable (sp?)
