I need to choose a play to direct next year and I can't find a short play (One Act...anything under an hour).
I'm looking for one with a cast under 8ish, and not a comedy! Looking for plays written by playwrights that are women, POC, or queer etc.

What is the age of your actors?
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

Colton - This is the site to find what you are looking for. Be sure to check the lists for the different years. You will also need to check Sam French and/or Dramatists to see if the script has been published.

You could do the first act of Top Girls. We did it in high school and it stands on its own without the rest of the play just fine. A cast of 6 (plus a waitress), written by a female (with an all female cast) and within your time limit.
