The newest commerical advertising GV is quoting the New York Post (I believe) to say the show is "Grease on Surfboards!"

Is that supposed to be a good thing?

While never a huge Grease fan, although I did manage to see the original Bway production twice with camp, I think most people will consider that a favorable comparison.

While the movie Greaes will always have a place in my heart, I was never a fan of the musical.

Also, in the same commerical they focused in on girl in bikinis saying "...with the youngest and hottest actors on Broadway!"

Oh wow. Forget about talent, as long as their hot I am good! re: Good Vibrations Commercial

I can very easily forgive a terrible play/musical with a beautiful display of eye candy.

I think if you have a terrible show, you at least want to advertise talent within the cast. While Dracula left more than to be desired, the cast was stellar, and I still enjoyed their performances working with the material given.

Yeah, there's tons of eye candy in GV. Not much of a story, but it really was a fun show.

I think the person who wrote that quote meant to say "crap on surfboards".

This show is NO Grease at all. Grease has mantained its popularity for so long while most people dont even know what the heck Good Vibrations is!

I just saw the commerical, and well it was pretty bad. The person speaking sounded like he was reading, monotone, no pauses. They only had about 3 clips from the show and they just repeated them 1) cast on the surf boards, 2) carloine on the life guard stand 3) bobby signing. You would think they could of found some more material before producing the commerical.

Pft. No. But to the average person watching that commercial, they'll probably be like "ooooooooh GREASE!" and go see it. Gr.

I think they mean grease as in the cooking material. You know like...you rub grease on your surfboard if you want to ruin it and be really disappointed.

I'm so sick of seeing that commercial. I never see commercials for good shows...probably because they don't need them.

Hahaha... I'm sorry you guys, but I LOVE that commercial.
My roommate laughs at me because every time we are watching T.V. and it comes on, I start laughing and dancing.
Good Vibrations amuses me.

I just can't believe they have the nerve to show some of that garbage on TV. A large part of the commercial is actually one of the most laughable (at, not with) parts of the show - when the entire cast stands on surfboards and "dances." And you even get a glimpse of the Uggs!

ha!
The commercial is amusing.
The show is amusing.
But the most amusing thing is that it is KILLING so many people that this show is still open and that the "regular folks" seem to like it!
