Papering is a term referring to free tickets distributed sometimes through a service but usually through various industry related groups and unions.

I saw the show yesterday. It appeared a representative from a papering company was passing out tickets to people outside the entrance to the theatre. I bought a ticket in the 3rd to last row of the mezz with a discount code a few weeks ago. The mezz was only maybe a quarter full though there were 3 center rows, including mine, that were full (row a, b, and f).
I have to agree the rush policy is weird especially for a show that doesn't appear to be selling all that well. I was going to hold out for rush, but went ahead and bought a discount code ticket. Glad I didn't expect rush because I don't meet the age requirement. I should have waited for it to appear on TDF though. It would have saved me some cash. Incidentally, it appeared on TDF the day after I bought my ticket with a discount code.

Posted: 3/28/11 at 12:50pmYes, I was there yesterday and the orchestra was full. I'd have to think they'll be tweaking their rush policy so it makes a bit more sense, although again, I do admire the idea of offering it to college-age kids who aren't in school.

Posted: 3/28/11 at 1:11pmCorrect. But of course, student rush policies where you have to show an ID eliminate kids who have dropped out of high school or who aren't in college. If I were them, I might simply try saying that the rush is for kids aged 14 to 21 AS WELL AS anyone with a current college ID. Since they're not allowing anybody under 14 in the theater, that would cover it.

Where is this policy stated, and how is it enforced? Do they check ID's at the entrance? And if someone under 14 arrives with a ticket, would they then refund that person the money?

Posted: 3/28/11 at 1:37pmThe whole thing is just dumb - there shouldn't be an age thing period.
