I hope it's true, but I'll believe it when it happens. He's known for being effusive. I'd personally love to see the Auburn piece come to fruition.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

I'd like to see Kevin Kline and Patti LuPone do a revival of The Visit in a few years.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

Loved him in pirates of Penzance and On the Twentieth Century (with Judy Kaye and Christine Ebersole and Imogene Coca)...it's a great idea for casting The Visit! I hope there's life for this show outside of D.C.!

^ I meant the original Durrenmatt play, actually.

I hope we get his King Lear at some point. That'd be something to see.

He did KING LEAR at the Public a couple of years ago to universal pans. Maybe he'll try it again a la HAMLET.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

Oh, right, I forgot about that. And that original Hamlet he did was pretty painful, too. He got it much better the second time, but he directed the second one himself.

A new Kevin Kline Lear directed by Bartlett Sher, or even Kline himself, then.

It's great that Contributor is an obvious fan of Kevin Kine. But saying: "aren't we all" is perhaps a bit overly effusive? I can't say I've seen him perform live, but I do like him as a film actor: "In-Out", "Dave", "De-Lovely." He's o.k. from RC in Austin, Texas
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
