A community theatre around my area is putting it on and for the audition notice they said "roles for men and women ages 16-75"
Could someone please tell me if there are any characters around 16-years-old? If there is, can I please have descriptions for any of those characters?
Thank you so much.

None of the characters are teenagers as I can recall. The 2 young Joad children are more like 8 (Ruthie) and 6 (Winfield). Rosasharn, their older sister, might be in her late teens. She is pregnant and married. Why not get hold of the film- it's terrific- and learn more.

Rose Of Sharon is, I BELIEVE, 19.
Al Joad is 16 and very handy as a mechanic and driver of the Joad truck.
I take it that they will be using the Steppenwolf adaption wtirrten by Galati. As written, both roles require nudity (Rose bares a breat and Al has 100% nudity and swimming), but since it is community theatre, they may exclude those moments.

oops, right!
I forgot about Al.
"Rosasharn" is Steinbeck's spelling in the novel...
But since they are not performing the novel, your correction of Broadwayguys spelling is not necessary.

I was not correcting his spelling. I was simply explaining mine.
