Great Summerstock Theaters???

Hey all, what are some great summerstock theaters?? I'm a set designer and I've never worked in summerstock before, and I think it would be a great experience....can anyone recommend some places?

Bucks County Playhouse has a pretty bad reputation on this board for doing crummy shows, but then again, summer stock is always a gamble both in terms of quality of the productions and in the treatment of the employees. Lack of union regulations + minimal amount of time to put up show = unhappy people. I did have one happy summer stock experience though (out of three total), so there are some good theatres out there. Plus, it's a good way to hone your craft and start your career.

Check out the Midwest Theatre Auditions and the Straw Hat auditions, both of which are places where you could interview with lots of different theatres and potentially get a job. Good luck!
