I couldn't find another post about this but am I the only one excited that it's coming to Broadway in the fall? I thought Christine Ebersole was excellent in the off- broadway production and I can't wait to see it again.
If you think you're the only one, you're craaaazy. :) My excitement cannot be measured. Not in normal human measurements, at least.
Does anybody know the approx running time of Grey Gardens (at least in its Off-Broadway run)? I'm plotting out my November trip to NY and am trying to squeeze as much in as possible.

It was 2 hour 45 minutes including one intermission at Playwrights
lol yes many people on this board are very excited for this! Though the running time will/could change because of changes being made in previews and whatnot Updated On: 6/22/06 at 11:40 AM
it was 2 hours and 40 mins
sorry someone beat me to it!
I have a feeling it's going to be shortened a lot when it comes to Broadway.
You couldn't find another post about this?? Pardon??
The least you could do was capitalize Grey Gardens.
Wow someone got up on the wrong side of the bed today.
The least you could do is not be so uptight.
There 'are' a lot of threads on this topic....
Well hun, type the words "Grey Gardens" into the search function and see what doesn't come up.

Thanks for posting Lorelai. Don't let the "board police" get to you.
If they aren't interested in contributing something constructive to the thread don't open it!
The punctuation police and repeat thread enforcers are really starting to irk me!
I was reading a thread the other day asking what the 2007 Tony Winners would be. Someone figured (and i have to agree) that Mary Poppins would likely take the now-meaningless-in-a-post-Jersey-Boys-world Best Musical award, while Grey Gardens got best score.
My question is this: Not having heard the Grey Gardens score, how likely is it? Is it a truly award-worthy score? Because if Gigi could win Best Score in 1974, I don't see why Mary Poppins couldn't win it in 2007.
Can someone give a breif synopsis of the show, I've heard the name but don't know anything about it.

The Grey Gardens score was good, but nothing spectacular
Ebersole's Tony can be engraved now. And I'm being pretty serious.
She has this in the bag.
And I think the show might just win Best Musical also.
"Will You"
"Around the World"
"Another Winter in a Summer Town"
3 of the best songs I've ever heard. And brilliantly performed.

Grey Gardens has a wonderful score. You'll soon be able to find out for yourself with the cd soon to appear.I also loved "Will You" , "Around the World" and "Another Winter". I'd also add my other 2 favorites "The 5:15" and "Drift Away".So glad that it appears that both Bob Stillman and John McMartin will be back.Got my ticket for the first preview.
For me the CD cannot be released soon enough. August seems so far away!!
I also love "Around the World" and "Will You", but I think "Around the World" is my favorite.
Also, I must agree with WickedRocks, the first thought that popped into my head when I heard the show was going to be on Broadway (after "I HAVE TO GET TICKETS") was "I bet Christine Ebersole will take Best Actress in a Musical next year at the Tonys." She already won a bunch of awards for the off Broadway production. From what little I know about the upcoming season, I think the Tony is hers.
