Although there has been no official announcement, that booking would seem to indicate that the new Mel Brooks musical Young Frankenstein, which had originally been scheduled to follow The Producers into the St. James, may play the Hilton Theatre, the current home of Pirate Queen.

That's bullsh*t. If this happens I'm going to boycott YF. Yes, you heard it here first. I will be the idiot at the box office with the picketing sign.

Uh why would you boycott YF? Because Pirate Queen would have to close for it to open?

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Either that or CATS just doesn't want it to be at the Hilton.

I am really hoping for YF to end up at the St. James. If it doesn't then I will be dissapointed.

But glad to hear The Grinch will return! I didn't see it last season (although I wanted to) but I wish they would just go to Madison Square Garden to do it. re: Grinch Takes the St James

Obviously I'm not really going to picket, but if Pirate Queen is forced to close just because they're being pressured to have an available theatre for Young Frankenstein then that's just not right. Pirate Queen has every right to stay open and try and find an audience as any other show as long as they have the money.

Or does it mean YF is coming in later than expected? CATSNYrevival, where did you get your quote?

The quote came from the Playbill article.

"but I wish they would just go to Madison Square Garden to do it."

Amen, I wish this would move there and not clog up the works at a Broadway house that could be used for a new show.

I have several names, one is Julian2. I am also The Opps Girl. But cross me, and I become Bitch Dooku!

Why on earth would they book a theater for the Grinch so early? Boo. I don't want to work at the dumb St. James...

Guess that means no FOLLIES then re: Grinch Takes the St James

Follies was just a rumor to begin with. There was a revival only a couple of years ago and it didn't even do well. Why would it do better after only three or four years later?

well, it seems like YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN wants to force out THE PIRATE QUEEN
this makes me really upset, actually, i mean, THE PIRATE QUEEN is not that bad at all! it really deserves more of a chance and more hope than its getting
haha, i might have to join you picketing, CATSNYRevival...
