Just read Josh Grisetti reply about his contact length on his Twitter timeline. He said he is there until at least Fall, maybe Christmas (then makes a joke about joining the tour and London company)
Maybe they're hoping there will be a spike in the grosses with the new leads and then decide to continue or not?

I don't think Kevin McCollum is that naïve to expect these leads to provide a boost in box office.

No. Not even Will Chase.
Will Chase doesn't exactly have a great box office record. Have you heard of the hit musicals High Fidelity, The Story of My Life, and Lennon? Updated On: 7/18/16 at 04:51 PM

Fair enough :)
So I guess the show will close before the year is out. I know a lot of people have mixed views, but I like it. I'll be sad to see it go

Intermission now. Loving all the new leads! Will Chase is hilarious and sexy.
Very happy to be back to see these excellent new performers, but oy vey, this show is really not my brand of humor at all (with the exception of Shakespeare's character, who I think is hysterical)

Just got home. As I said, LOVE the new leads.
I really love Will Chase as a performer, and still maintain that he is one of most versatile musical theatre actors working today. He does an excellent job as Shakespeare, definitely putting his own personal energy into his portrayal. I'm not sure if he's giving a Tony-worthy performance like Borle undoubtedly was, but he's still great in the role, and as I said, I just love him as a performer.
Josh Grisetti is lovely and perfect for the role. I think he's plays Nigel a little less nervous and fidgety than Cariani, but it works.
Kritzer is Kritzer, of course. She's flawless, though underutilized (as the role is written, unfortunately).
Catherine Brunell really impressed me. I loved her dorky energy. She reminds me of a young Rachel Dratch. I had never heard of her before this, but I'll have to keep my eyes open for her in the future.
Rob McClure is doing a great job as well. I think he fits the role better than BDJ, though I like BDJ more as a performer in general.
(Wow, I used the word "role" a lot in this post!)
I suppose I exaggerated a bit in my last post. There are lots of moments I find funny throughout the show, and I do think Nigel and Portia are funny, in addition to Shakespeare. The show overall is not for me, though. Still, I'm happy for their success, and glad so many enjoy it (no snark intended).

Where was your rush ticket? I'm a huge Will Chase fan and debating between rush or waiting for a TDF.

My rush seats was in the first row, far house right. I couldn't see anyone's feet, but I didn't miss any of the action. Got there at 8:20 this morning, roughly 10th or 11th in line. The person behind me in line got a box seat.

Won the lotto and was front row center. Was soooooo bummed that Chase was out. He's one of my favorite performers and to be front row and center, I was beyond excited. Alas. His understudy was fine, but his vocals were weak and often times off key. Grisetti fit the role great, but missed the originals more falsetto approach. Kritzer was good, but not as amazing as I was hoping. Her voice didn't quite fit the song. She was still great, though. McClure was fantastic with everything, but just isn't my favorite singer. I missed D'acry James' vocals. All around the leads were fine, and the show is in great shape. The ensemble still rocks it.'

If you don't mind my asking, who was on as Shakespeare? Eric Sciotto, Ryan Vandenboom or Aleks Pevec?

I've been hearing about a lot of Chase absences. I wonder if he's struggling with some kind of illness or vocal trouble. Supposedly he missed more than one show in his FIRST WEEK.

Is he filming? I wish I had known I would have just waited to lotto.
The show is actually really well done with maybe one too many of the "same" kind of production numbers. There's a lot of tap that gets repetitive.
