My family loves the movie Groundhog Day, and my mom wants to see the show now. Even from the music I can tell it's not gonna be as appropriate as the movie. I'm 13, my sisters are 23, 15, and 8, and my brother is almost 20. Just wondering how appropriate would it be and who should we bring. Thanks!

I would say everyone would be fine except the 8-year old.

There is a tad of profantiy as well as some innuendo here and there.

In one song he talks about masturbating seven times... in the bath. How would your eight year old interpret that?

Some of the innuendo may just go over the 8-year old's head. I'd be more concerned that the multiple suicide attempts would be scary.
Obviously, it all depends on the 8 year old.

Yeah I believe in the song "Hope", the main character attempts suicide multiple times and all the different morbid ways he attempted suicide is shown... might not be the best for an 8 year old

I've seen a number of kids under the age of 12/13 at GHD. They all managed to sit through it, though a few of the younger ones got restless. If you feel ready to answer questions about the topics listed above, then don't go, but as said much of the adult humor will go over their heads. The suicide scene isn't gory, there's worse violence in action films, it just depends on what the 8 year old has been exposed to.
I recommend giving it a shot since I think everyone else will enjoy it greatly.

You should see it, with everyone if possible. Cover the eyes of the eight-year-old during the (mostly hidden) sex scene with Nancy, and during the ending verse of "Hope". Other than that, you should be fine. The line about masturbation won't even register to a kid.

I would say probably yes, but with caution regarding your youngest sister. If she knows that things like sex and death exist, and you could follow up the show with a family discussion of the themes/comparison to the movie, it would probably be ok. But yeah, it's definitely more adult than the movie.
(Most of) the sexual innuendo would probably go over her head and the profanity can be hand-waved as grown-ups-only words, but I agree with the posters above me that your biggest concern is likely "Hope." It's a brilliant piece of stagecraft and a highlight of the show but yeah, the multiple suicides (which are played for laughs at times but are also kind of disturbing) could freak out an 8-year-old.
But then again, your family knows her and her maturity level the best. It really is a great show and I'm sorry to see it never found its audience, and I hope that you guys (or at least some of you) can catch it before it closes.

My friend thought
the sword through the eyeball was a bit much
But the whole thing cracked me up and it's my favorite number! I scared easily as an 8 year old though, so I definitely wouldn't recommend it to 8-year-old me.

I'd say it's fine for everyone... in all honesty the few minor things would probably go over the younger one's head; and seriously they'll learn it sooner or later.
