In addition to what you said, it must contain some music not originally intended for the show.
The only thing I can think of is OH, KAY!.
What about PLAIN AND FANCY?
There's a show fluttering about on the tip of my tongue and I can't think of it. I can't help but think one of those criteria is off somehow.
I agree.
I've got it. It's definitely Helzapoppin'.
Hahahaha...

Seriously. I just don't get what it could possibly, although I'm increasingly agreeing with Of Thee I Sing, I just don't know of any interpolated or additional songs in that score.
I mean, HELLZAPOPPIN' fits all the criteria, it just seems like a very STRANGE option. Are the rights even offered?
And it can't be PLAIN AND FANCY, scratch that.
OF THEE I SING, maybe...but I'm more between OH, KAY! and BABES IN ARMS.

If only that theatre teacher knew that his/her clues were going to be pored over by the biggest theatre geeks in the world...
I'd love to see what everyone does if it turns out the teacher got one of the clues wrong.
Hehe. Munk, did you also used to love those deductive thinking puzzles? Match the person with the movie and the time it starts...
This reminds me a bit of that. Like the fact that Shirley Jones was in one movie, so you know it's not the others, that's deductive thinky to me.
>> Babes in Arms
Wow, that suggests a bunch of other possibilities: Babes in Toyland, Desert Song, Kismet (although I think that was produced after 1950 and I think there was a revival sometime in the 70s/80s).
