It has been announced that there will be a CD signing on the 28th of August at 5:00

My question is how long do you think this will last? Do these signings last like an hour? I went to a book signing at Barnes and Noble and it was probably about 45 Minutes.

There is going to be a discussion first and then the CD signing. I would imagine that the entire running time of the whole event would have been to be no longer than two hours because they do have a show to do at 8 PM.

Posted: 8/25/08 at 8:13pmI asked this in another thread but didn't get an answer. I was wondering how tacky it would be to buy two CDs (one for me and one for a friend) and have them both signed.

Posted: 8/25/08 at 8:25pmI already called because I'd like to buy a second copy for a friend and the person in charge at B&N said 2 copies would not be an issue.

I would say early. My friend went to the Shirley Maclaine book signing and there was already a good-sized line a couple of hours before. She was able to get in, but not everyone in line was able to a) get into the room for the reading/discussion and/or b) get their book signed.
My guess is the demand with Gypsy will be at least as great if not greater.

I honestly don't think the demand for Gypsy will be as great as it was for Shirley MacLaine.
I've never been to a signing before, but I'm going to try and get there an hour or so beforehand. I'm buying the CD there and if it's too early, it's not like you're without things to do in a bookstore.

Posted: 8/25/08 at 11:25pmI showed up at the exact minute that the Mel Brooks signing was supposed to start and I got into the room no problem. I'm thinking that Mel Brooks is a little more popular then Gypsy.

Posted: 8/26/08 at 2:22amIt's supposed to start just as people are getting out of work so that might lessen the crowd a bit. That being said I'm leaving work an hour earlier on Thursday, so that I can get there about 58 minutes before it is supposed to start.

I can't make the CD Signing on the 28th because I have classes, would it be stupid if I brought my CD to the stage door to be signed?
It would be after the 28th of course.
