Gypsy Pre-Show Announcement

When they are giving the announcement before the show to turn off pagers and cell phones, do they always try getting a reaction from the audience by saying "Patti Lupone has injured her foot... therefore, she'll be performing the show wearing isotoners (sp?)"?

If not, can anyone confirm she did hurt her foot?
