So, I finally saw Gypsy this past tuesday, and I must admit, I loved every second of it. Let me first start off by saying that I loved the last revival of Gypsy, and I was a little hesistant as to whether this production could live up to the last one in my mind. Boy was I worried for nothing. From the excellent staging (The Dainty June numbers pop into my mind the most, as well as the most moving ending i've ever seen on the Broadway stage), to the exquisite performances (Dainty June, Patti, Louise, Patti, the children, oh, and did i mention PATTI?!?! Honestly, if she doesn't win the Tony, I don't know who will.
glad you enjoyed the show! I can not wait till next saturday, when I'm going to see it!
I also can not wait for that cast recording to finally come out (or at least be officially announced!)

^ I am totally jealous!
Can't wait to see it!
I just got back home from NY after seeing the Sat. 4/12 Matinee. Great show as it was at CityCenter. They had a problem with the staging during the show just before Patti sings "Small World". The part of the stage that Patti sits on that they roll out from stage left got stuck. So there was an uncomfortable silence and nobody or nothing on stage before they made an announcement, "Ladies and gentlemen, we have a little problem we need to fix. Please bear with us for one minute, thank you." A minute or so later, they got the show back on the road and they continued as if nothing happened.
I think Patti might have flubbed part of "Mr. Goldstone". She said halfway into the song, "Have a Goldstone, Mr. Egg Roll". I don't think anyone really noticed it though.
Standing ovations for Patti after Rose's Turn and at the curtain calls.
But it was a great show and am glad I got to see it again with this incredible cast.

Those are the actual lyrics, no flub there.

Isn't "Have a Goldstone, Mr. Egg Roll" the actual lyric? If not, she made that same mistake at the performance I saw...but I'm pretty sure its the actual lyric.
The "Have a goldstone, mr. eggroll" is part of the lyrics and supposed to show how chaotic and crazy it is getting in the scene as she tries to suck up to him (for lack of a better term). Glad you enjoyed the show!
Are you insinuating that the Lupone made a mistake on stage. There is a contract being taken out on your life as we speak. You best go into hiding.
