I have a feeling that they aren't necessarily sticking to the seats 'allotted' for the rushes any longer. With the economy and grosses/attendance hitting a bit of a slump, they would rather sell the ticket for $25-30 than taking the significant chance of having it sit empty.
When I have gone to rush the past few times, the Box Office Manager has always given me that impression when talking about seats left.

bumping- has any one been recently with the bumped up closing date?
i was wondering how busy it would be this weekend?
I went last night. I got my ticket around 1pm, and it was for the right box. Only 2 other people were in front of me in that section. Actually, there are 8 seats in each, and only 4 were filled on each side. The front row was completely filled.
And just a note about last night's seating. You probably will be able to get seats fine because they had the balcony and it looked like the rear mezzanine closed. The mezzanine was also not filled at all, same with the orchestra. There were empty rows. So yeah, the show is amazing, but with the theater empty like that, I don't blame them for moving up the closing.
