Hi guys, saw lots of discussion in regards to Gypsy understudies...
Besides Gypsy and Electra, has anyone seen any of the other understudies?? Opinions??

I saw Lenora go on for Rose....LOVED IT!

I saw Pearce (not Matty) go on for Tulsa....he was a little too...gay...for my taste.

I know exactly what you mean, RyToast! I saw Matty Price go on for Yonkers about 6 weeks ago and the role turned from obnoxious teen to just wierdly sassy.

the only person who has been on for Tulsa is Pearce Wegener. Matty Price has only been on as Yonkers...

how about Dainty June or any of the kids?

I saw Katie Micha go on as Baby June just a few days after opening night and she was pretty good.

I might be wrong, but hasn't Leigh Ann Larkin only been out once, and only recently? plus her new stand by is Emma Zaks, who I am positive hasn't gone on yet.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

I believe Leigh Ann missed one Wed. matinee, but Emma Zaks didn't go on as June (I guess because she had just joined the company and wasn't ready yet).

I saw Baby louise's understudy go on, she was adorable and extremely endearing as louise. I believe she is also the understudy for Baby June. Has anyone seen her as Baby June??

IBDB.com lists Katie Micha as the understudy, and notes that she also performed Baby June on opening night.

As per the Gypsy website, Jaclyn Taylor Ruggiero is the understudy for both Baby Louise and B June.
I saw her as B Louise and I was extremely impressed with her...
Can definitely see her as a great B June, was wondering if anyone has seen her as June, or if you know if she is scheduled to go on as June...Can only imagine how she'll be...

Matty Price is an u/s for Tulsa too? I think he has a great voice, but I just can't picture him as Tulsa at all.

I wonder if Pearce (or Matty? or both?) will go on as Tulsa when Tony is out for a few performances at the end of November doing that other show at City Center.

I love Pearce as Yonkers. It'd be interesting to see him as Tulsa.

I believe Katie Micha is still understudying Baby June, in addition to being the regular Baby Louise.

Katie Micha was a great Baby June when I saw the show in previews. I much prefer the original Baby Louise, however. Too bad she's gone.

I chose, and my world was shaken. So what? The choice may have been mistaken. The choosing was not.

jennyish, I LOVED Emma Rowley: I thought she was the sweetest, most earnest looking little girl. I really liked Katie Micha as Baby Louise (and, I've said it before, but that girl looked just like Jessica Rush's adult Louise), too, but Emma was my fave.

I am sure Jaclyn Taylor Ruggiero is the understudy for Baby Louise and Baby June. My question was if anyone has seen her as Baby June. I would like to try and catch one of her performances in that role.

She was back on last night and I believe both shows today. She is still recovering from her illness but does not intend on missing any more shows at the moment.

^Thanks! As I said in the other post, I'm glad to hear she's back and I hope she fully recovers soon.

Does anyone know if Tony was in today for the matinee? According to broadwayunderstudies, Matt Gibson was on as a farmboy which makes me wonder if someone else (Pearce or Matty) went on as Tulsa. Tony probably has rehearsals during the day for that other show he's doing at the end of the month (why do I always forget the title?). Anyway, I'm seeing the matinee on Saturday and while I love Tony, I'm kinda curious about seeing one of the other guys in the role.
