Hi

I just have a simple question. I live outside NYC. I'm looking for 1 ticket for HAIR for the first week of November. I found one seat in the center of row K.

Bu I was thinking that maybe if I go to the box office a few days before the show I maybe find better seats.

What do you think? It's just 1 ticket and maybe they don't use always the Premium Tickets.

Thanks in advance!

I usually like buying my tickets in advance. Paying the service charges suck, but if I find a good seat and I know it is a popular show, I will buy in advance through Telecharge or Ticketmaster.

Now that the summer is over, Hair isn't as hot of a ticket now, but depending on how far you are coming from, I'd buy in advance; however, I think you will have no problem getting tickets from the box office a few days before. I am just not sure how good of a seat you will get. You may get better seats since you are correct - they tend to release unsold premium tickets as normal-priced tickets a couple of days before the show's date. It can be a hit-or-miss situation.

To give you an idea, during the summer I bought a Row J center orchestra seat a couple of days before a Wednesday matinee performance.

My response would be, "Define 'better than row K center'."

By better, do you mean closer?

I'd buy row K and be one happy bunny rabbit.

Better = the seat where Will Swenson will give you a lap-dance.

Just kidding, of course. re: HAIR - 1 tkt in advance or in the box office?

That is the perfect seat. I don't understand why people think that the best seats are first row orchestra and boxes.

Front row is way too close (Ec=ven Row D at NEXT T NORMAL is a bit too close. (Front Row Centre of the Mezz is the best seat in almost any house.)

I dislike boxes...too far off to the side.

If given the choice, I would usually opt for front Mezz seats over rear or side orchestra.
