I hope they know how much the fans appreciate their work! :)
Thanks, Jim. I had the pleasure of seeing the tour when it first opened in Baltimore in 2003. At that time I actually preferred it to the Broadway company. I saw it at it's second stop in Hartford, Connecticut (because I happened to be in the area). Then I saw it again 3 times in DC when the show was here last summer. Any one who knows me, knows it's one of my favorite shows!! This weekend will make it viewing number 14.
Best of luck to you Jim and everyone associated with the show.

A terrific show - too bad both the tour and probably the Broadway edition are closing too soon (see the separate thread about Riedel in the Post reporting that current hit London revival of Evita will probably move into the Neil Simon to replacement Hairspray next year). Has the casting been done for the non-equity tour? Or is it going to be the same cast? Is broadway hairspray closing? GAH i want to see it again so bad - I saw it twice in Toronto when it was here!

"Has the casting been done for the non-equity tour? Or is it going to be the same cast?"
I'm pretty sure they've done their casting since it opens in July in Atlantic City. A Non-Equity show could not have the same cast as an Equity tour. Equity people belong to the union and the union would not allow it. Non-Equity tours pay their performers less money and fewer if any benefits.
Casting has indeed been completed. They started rehearsals in New York on June 19.
Get ready kids....this Tracy is going to BLOW YOU AWAY.
Thanks Dottie.........I'll be in NYC in a few weeks. I'm taking over the MD/Conductor job on a b-way show that I can't mention yet. The ink hasn't dried on my contract. You have been a great supporter and I truly appreciate you. I'm already going through Hairspray withdrawal. The detox process is very intense, lol.
oo good i am very excited for this tour aswell.
jim - you are like the hottest Conductor I have ever seen in my life.
Well Mateo, you made my day. THANK YOU!!!
I have to concur that Jimmy V is not only charismatic, but also an awesome conductor. He's a fantastic leader, a great person and someone I am proud to add to my list of friends.
Glad to hear you'll be close enough for me to come visit, Jim..but of course, my little birdie already told me.
Hairspray Mom, who are you? Are you the mother of a Hairspray cast member or are you an Edna? Either way, thanks for the kind words. Will you be my publicist?
Hi Jim,
My voice isn't quite deep enough to do the Edna routine, so instead I must confess that I am the mother of one of the cast members. LOL..the one who knows that you prefer oatmeal cookies with raisins and no nuts (your secret is officially out now).
And yes, it is my dream to be your publicist...so, you're on!
Ohhhhhhhhh, you're the Croatian Hairspray Mother. Hee's a question for you (in Croatian) - Da li vi izraditi tvoj keks od nule ili from kutija? HAHAHA
Wow Jim..to think you are so multi-lingual..of course I made them from scratch:) Miss you!

If you flip that number over on a digital cloeck, it spells hell!
Just wanted to put that out there...
thats the way john waters would want it :)
i...i...i'm speechless. i obviously cannot afford to let my fanatacism slip anylonger. I haven't visited the board recently, and here i finally come back and HAIRSPRAY'S TOUR CLOSED?! Oh my. I'm...I'm saddened, actually. Oh my. Flabbergasted.
All I can say is that I am so ecstatic that they had such a fantastic run. They all deserved it, and they all worked sooo hard to make such a great show come to life. Keala--love love.
I saw the show 8 times...while it was in Appleton, I flew to L.A. to see it, and also drove to Chicago. And it was worth every penny. Thanks John Waters for makin' a movie that made such a great show. I learned a lot from the show...from the actors, from everything. Love to all!

I met three of the cast members in the upcoming tour while in NYC...they have great personalities.
Nathan_Lane_Rules - HUH? - 1134 equals HELL backwards on a digital clock? Not only does that creep me out but what do you do all day, that you would figure something like that out? In addition, now that you have shared your digital talent, what does it all mean? I am not being rude. I really want to know. Who does it affect? Nathan Lane? Me? You? Fans? Producers? Composers?
Who is your audience for that information?
