Apologize in advance as I'm sure this general topic has been discussed in various places ad nauseam on the boards...
For those that know the general patterns that are used in the past for Hamilton tickets on Broadway... any idea when the next block of tickets will go for sale? (from August 2018 on....)
I was hoping to jump on and purchases tickets for next fall for a Christmas present as soon as they become available, but wasn't sure when that was. I have signed up to get an e-mail notification... so hopefully I'll know very close to when it does.
Thanks in advance...
The last block of tickets was released in late August, so you're probably going to have to wait for a while. I don't know any shows that have a whole year's worth of tickets open.

I agree with the previous response, probably you'll need to wait for some time. However I don't think that it will take so much time, usually the schedule for such shows is formed in advance and when the final certain dates are known, the tickets will be avaliable for the customers. Also as I know now many people buy them for such shows online, one of my friends told me that she has already gotten the one for "Frozen" in 2018 and "Hamilton" will be on stage at that time too. You can get more info on such resources or at least to know more about possible dates of the new tickets' releases. Hope that was helpful :)
As a huge Hamilton fan, I have been observing ticket releases on and off since July 2015.
The ticket releases have been unpredictable, ranging from two months at a time to six months (the last horrible release, for instance).
Since Hamilton tickets are now available through mid-August 2018, in theory, the new release could occur any time now. (For instance, because we are now in early November, the rest of August, September and October 2018 could ostensibly be sold.) There have been AmEx pre-sales, and even one AmEx pre-sale limited to holders of the fancy-pants cards that have a $500 annual fee or more.
The longer producers wait, the bigger the release can be. It's hard to know their thinking.
The last release used the Ticketmaster Verified Fan "method" of curtailing bots and scalpers. It was terrible for those of us regular people who wanted to buy tickets. I was put on standby and finally received a code when most tickets had already been sold. It was a nightmare for many.
So, it's hard to say when Christmas 2018 will be put on sale. It won't be put on sale until after Christmas 2017 though.
You can't rely on the email alerts. In my experience, I have gotten them hours after the 10 a.m. release. That's too late to be any use.
If you are really determined, here's what you can do. Every day, go to Ticketmaster, and navigate to the final date of Hamilton sales. A day or two before the new release, the previously blank squares on the calendar will be populated with information about the release: the date, time, and whether it's a Verified Fan release, a regular release, or a pre-sale. Good luck!
