I disagree as there is a clear relationship to theatre via Savion Glover.

& for those not interested in the film or this thread, pls feel free to skip reading my posts.
So, you think you're above the rules of the board? This is an off-topic discussion and, thus, should have been placed on the off-topic board.
Plain and simple.

fyg, I don't know who you are. I post openly & use my name. I have made a clear case. That is plain & simple. You are no one to tell me or anyone else for that matter what I think.

Just because you post openly and use your name has NOTHING to do with this.
You made your case? What case? THERE IS NO CASE!
This is an off-topic subject so post it on the appropriate board. If everyone had your attitude they could post whatever they wanted on the main board and just tell everyone else to "not bother to post if they're not interested."
You have to follow the board rules like everyone else.

Posting openly is relevant & just because you do not agree w/my case does not mean there is is none.

I don't know what you're on, but you need to stop taking it.
I don't care about what your name is and whether or not you decide to let it be known on this board. Just because you do that gives you no right to blatantly ignore the rules of the board. It gives you NO authority.
You have no case. You're just on a power trip.
I will now notify the mods to have this thread moved.

fyg, your post indicates to me that it is you who is on the power trip. Feel free to do what you must.
I stand by my post that because of the people who are in the film & are also in the theatre, my post is on topic.

Does it REALLY matter which board this thread is on? Please.

I'm gonna have to go with FYG on this one. There's a reason there is a Broadway board and an Off-topic board. I don't think it's asking too much to have Milla follow the rules.

And now, I have to ask you GWW, who are you to say that I've broken the rules?

WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Why are people flipping out?
It's the same thing when people post "A CHORUS LINE ON ELLEN!"
Ellen is not a Broadway show. Off-Topic?
What about "________ on SVU!!!!!" SVU is not a Broadway related show. Why is no one flipping out there?
Chill out, relax, get over yourself.

Well, the thread isn't exactly Broadway related nor is it's title.
Sure, you mention Hines as a sidenote but the main point of this thread seems to be just to promote the movie itself.

And what personal or financial investment does Milla have in this film? Why would she need to promote this movie?
Please.

And those in glass houses....

And quite honestly, you're not the brightest bulb in the Tiffany Lamp. I recall some thread about the difference between a composer and an orchestrator....
I aplogize for the unnecessary and petty remarks, but seriously.

The thread you referenced is an idea thread focusing STRICTLY on a Broadway performer. There have been many other threads posted by other members in the same vein. So you're example holds no water.
And, you're right, that remark was petty. Forgive me for not knowing what an orchestrator does in comparison to the composer. I know the composer is responsible for writing the music to all the songs in a show but I didn't know just how much composing they did strictly for the orchestra.
So, please forgive me for reaching out and trying to learn something instead of pretending to know what I was talking about.
You're right. What was I thinking?

The people who are up in arms about this thread should probably be complaining about the Hugh Jackman on Letterman one and the Shock Treatment one too. People post things about stuff relating to Broadway performers or Broadway shows all the time. It's not really fair to single this person out.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

Especially when one of the complainers has done so himself.
Very irritating.

Im not sure I've ever read a thread on this site without some sort of bitchfest in it...and that's not an exaggeration...that's sad

Count me in with the group who has no problem with this thread on he main board. The film includes broadway people, and is therefore related.
"We don't value the lily less for not being made of flint and built to last. Life's bounty is in it's flow, later is too late. Where is the song when it's been sung, the dance when it's been danced? It's only we humans who want to own the future too."

I can see why this "should" be off-topic, but quite honestly, I never understood some people's obsessions on here with what should be where. IF you're not a moderator, you have no reason to care.

YIKES! Back on topic: It'a an adorable film, filled with songs and great dancing "choreographed" by Savion Glover, among others, and features the talents of Broadway/theater perfomrers, including Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, Anthony LaPaglia, and I believe I saw Rachel York in the credits as one of the singers.

Ooh, ooh. Rachel York as one of the singers? Now THAT makes this movie worth seeing!
