HBO re-airing Angels in America weekly starting June 3rd

Just FYI for those who want to see the film adaptation of Tony Kushner's two-part play "Angels in America", HBO will re-air it beginning June 3rd. It will be shown as one chapter per week--there are a total of six. Three in the first part, "Millenium Approaches." The last three are in the part called "Perestroika." It will be shown again in December in two halves on World AIDS Day.

So remember to set your VCR for June airings...and then the DVD comes out in September. Can't wait to see all of the "extras"!

Chapter III is this week...and HBO has added AIA to this month's "On Demand" selections so you can watch it/tape it anytime if you have that added service (it requires digital subscription, I believe.)

Can't wait for the DVD in September...those extras will be amazing. Be sure to check out the www.hbo.com section on AIA. The conversations with some of the leads, the combo conversation and the trailer all are amazing. (Not a shill...not an HBO employee...just a fan of AIA.)

I love aia. I only saw the tv version though. how diffirent is it then the stage version? I thought that justin, merryl, and emma were amazing i can't wait till the dvd comes out! I watch it on demand everyday. Also did anyone see the spacial on Julian and Ethel Rosenberg (i really liked it)

I would love to see it on stage at some point, but pick up a copy of the play. It's definitely worth reading... I bought mine shortly after I watched the movie and I broke the binding within a day.... I've read it so many times since.

DVD is supposed to come out in mid-September (around Emmy time).

And, no, they aren't repeating the chapters. This appears to be a "one-shot" deal...tho' they may do this again in late July/ August to get folks hungry for the DVD.
