Why that's today! I don't get paid until next Monday!
AHHHHH, it will be agony waiting that long. I can't wait to hear Carol's interview. Is it a recent interview or is it from when she was in the show? Thanks for the tip.

Well, it doesn't say much but I got the tip from online, I think it's an interview when Carol first did the show, how fun!! ![]()
Here's also something I found...
"RELEASE NOTES
24/96 digital remastering recently discovered recording session photos and bonus tracks that enhance the value of each release for musical theatre collectors. Included among the bonus tracks are additional archival recordings from the Victor catalog plus interviews containing amusing and revealing anecdotes and insights from Tony Award winning artists involved in the creation of the musicals and the original recordings such as Fiddler on the Roof lyricist Sheldon Harnick, Hello, Dolly! star Carol Channing and Oliver! musical director Donald Pippin."

This is wonderful news indeed!!! It'll be a treat for you younger fans of the show to hear how marvelous Pearlie Mae and Mary were as Dolly. Also, the Merman tunes will have you tapping your feet for weeks!
Thanks for the info!!!!!!

Ok for those who have not heard the Merm tracks, buy the cd just for the two songs. Trust me when I say it'll be worth your while.
~Sarah, now listening to HD closing night with aforementioned songs reinsterted, sung gorgeously by The Merm. And might I add, huzzah.

DVD of the show? It couldn't be of the movie because there never was a movie of TWHM.
By the way: I was in the city tonight and bought the deluxe album. If I needed proof of my hopeless addiction to this show, it was when I broought the CD to the counter to check-out. My hands were shaking so badly that the clerk asked me if I was alright. I had trouble holding the pen to sign for the debit card purchase. I guess I was in a state of delirium!

I've listened to the CD several times and it is wonderful. The score has never sounded better and the added tracks are sensational.
Don't you think it's time for this show to be revived? (Isn't it always time for this show to be revived?)

Who would I cast as Dolly? Moi. It's the one role I've always craved doing--and the only female role I want to play. I do a dead-on Channing impersonation and my performance would be an homage to TGC.
Merman didn't record the entire score; just those two tracks on the deluxe album. The Mary Martin recording is quite good. I wish it was available on CD, but isn't yet. I love the Pearl Bailey recording, but it could never exist in the theater with those tempos! The Dora Bryan studio recording is fine, as is Beryl Reid's (both are British) I'm crazy about the French recording, although the orchestra is obviously smaller. German, Italian and Israeli are also fun.
