ummm... you do know Dan Studney posts here, right? what you're asking for is pretty much illegal. you need to contact rnhtheatricals.

Why is it that people are always asking for scores/parts to this show... I rarely see anyone blatantly asking where to get stuff to illegally produce other shows, why this show?

It's an amazing show, just curious why it seems to draw the 'I-don't-seem-to-realize-I'm-publically-asking-how-to-break-the-law' crowd?!

You wanna do the show so bad, pay for the rights like everyone else!

Ya.. the bass and drums book come when you license it legally.

Most composers don't care if you have an unpublished score for study purposes but when it comes to illegal productions.. that is just not cool. If you like it enough to do it you should want to pay the authors for it--without them it wouldn't exist to produce legally or otherwise!

Also people... buy published scores. If no one does, they'll stop publishing them. I have a large "copied" score collection just like many, but I also save my pennies to buy real copies. That's my PSA for the day.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I have been told that if you are not charging admission (making a profit off of the show) you do not have to pay for royalties. That is why many colleges do not charge admission for student directed productions and things of that nature. So they don't have to pay. Perhaps there are a lot of students producing Reefer at the college level, who are not paying but still want to use more than a piano?

Mmmm no, it doesn't work like that.

There is a way to do a staged reading without royalties (usually only in educational institutions) but only by permission of the authors and upon purchase of the published score and script by the entire cast. They also have to use the score and script on stage. Any staging or anything towards a full production without use of scripts and scores on stage always requires royalties.
