But everyone knows that HSM2 was a much better movie than HSM1!

Mama, your Musical knowledge obviously doesn't stretch as far as HSM! HSM2 is set at Summer, at a spa resort. So the set will be different and obviosuly because of this the costumes are different (no cheerleading outfits, basketball outfits etc)but swim suits and golfing outfits!

Yes the second movie runs circles around the first, but still its HSM2. Couldn't they tour Hairspray or maybe Wicked? How about any show that is not a heartless commercial enterprise?
Oh and sam, at last we've found something we know more about than Mama :)

Mama, seriously, take Sam up on the offer. You always pride yourself in your knowledge of musicals, both good and bad, and this is a prime example of the later. View it more as a guilty pleasure (kinda like how I look at Wicked) - its kinda trashy, yet so catchy and fun to watch :)

I tried watching the movie, oh i tried and just found it, well, rather trying!
You'd have the same problem getting me to sit thru 'Fiddler On The Roof' and 'Jesus Christ Superstar' i promise you!

i don't think you tried hard enough. HSM1 is a bit trashy, but then 2 steps it up a notch, until you get to number 3 when you can tell it's made for cinema! There's even a nice lil Fosse-esque number in 3

I have no...well, little, shame in liking the third installment.
It's actually pretty damn good for what it is! Zac Efron doesn't exactly make it difficult to watch.
HOWEVER, I have a bone to pick with Disney.
They filmed a scene where Troy sings (very hot and naked) in a shower, the scene was OBVIOUSLY deleted (the director clearly got carried away with his leading man, forgetting this is a film for kids...) and some screen shots were leaked. Now, I was hoping it would be on the deleted scenes and I would forever be a happy boy but NO. No sign of it.
Absolutely gutted.

OMG Taboo....i had exactly the same experience!
I saw all the pictures, was hoping for the deleted scenes, but no! There was no naked Effron on that film, whatsoever!

I can only repeat Taboo + Sam's sentiments re the lack of any Efron flesh in HSM3. A complete disappointment

I'm with Mama on this one! You know when you're watching a really good film/tv show and your TV goes screwy right at the pinnacle moment, and you panic? The TV screwed up when I was watching HSM and I thought it was better that way, I'd never enjoyed the film so much =D =P

There is however a clear sign of keeping they gays interested in HSM3....watch the scene where there's a close up of Zac in a white t-shirt with his arms showing, then there's a massive close-up of him felxing his biceps

I find it amusing how the director in each film ensured that Zac was shirtless at some point, it's fine for us drooling over but the fact he would have had to explain why he deemed it necessary to Zac and Disney is funny, also kind of creepy haha.
HSM - fair enough, his dad was chatting to him in the locker room mid-change.
HSM2 -playing topless basketball by himself. rippling muscles, clearly oiled up.
HSM3 - shower scene which would have shown a fair amount of dripping wet nakedness.
This is a DISNEY film!
