I have the movie soundtrack of Hair. Friends of mine have said I should get the CD of the recent concert production of Hair. Does anyone recommend that?

I despise the concert recording - it's horrible.

Get the OBC.

Munk, it's far from "horrible". And the Grammy nominating committee would disagree with you as well.

I Love the new concert recording. New stars, fresh arrangements, and some killer singing. The OBC is pretty great, but if you like the new crop of stars, this is a pretty terrific recording.

I have both versions and I love both versions. I really enjoyed the songs on here though, specifically -

Gavin Creel's "Going Doing"
Anna Gasteyer's "Wrong Way"
Eden Espinsosa's "Hippie Life"

and those are the ones I can remember off memory but the whole cd is fantastic, even Harvey's AIR which hysterical! You'll love it!

I made a list of all your faults, it was quite detailed and lengthy too and when I read it through I missed you. Your like a classic Eagles song, you just cant help but sing along even though it sometimes gets annoying too. I just know I want to be wherever I can wake and see you there next to me. **High Fidelity** Love is what I do **The Wedding Singer** Xanadu - Best NEW Musical of the Season!

I have the OBC CD, the remastered OBC CD that also includes the original Off-Broadway recording, London, the recent Australian recording and the concert. There are some bits and pieces that I like in all of the other recordings, but I always return to the Original Broadway Cast Recording. It's the only one that feels authentic to me.

And unlike the concert recording, the Original Broadway Cast Recording actually won the Grammy.

Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

GET IT!! haha. Its probably just because I got the concert recording andd never heard the OBCR, but I was just listening to OBCR clips on itunes and i'm just.. way too attached to the people on the concert recording haha. I was like "but.. but.. where's Laura's wonderful high soprano!?" and "wheres Gavins insanely sexy wonderful voice!?"

Ok, my favorite songs:
~ Shiela Franklin/I Believe in Love (WHO is the girl that sings it!?I cant find the name of who sings it anywhere, but she is incredible!!)
~Initials (ONLY laura could make it so wonderful- ONLY laura tongue.gif)
~I Got Life (one of my fav songs adam's ever sang. It just suits his voice SO well and I love it!)
~Going Down (Gavin's voice practicallly makes me squeal. It is SO HOTT. Which reminds me.. I need to go get all the other recordings he's on.. heheh)
~Hair (RAUL!!! that is all biggrin.gif)
~Hippie Life (because Edens voice just totally and completely blows me away. In EVERYTHING)

I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.

Shoshana Bean sings "I Believe in Love."

I would add to that list Jai Rodriguez's "Sodomy," Julia Murney's "Where Do I Go," and Sherie Rene Scott's "Walking in Space."

Buy this CD, it's brilliant!

Definitley go for the concert recording. It's got a very talented cast. All of the songs mentioned above are great, as is Lillias White's "Aquarius."

Shoshana Bean sings "I Believe in Love."

holy cow. that IS shoshana!? I couldn't tell, I was def thinking it MIGHT be cause it does sound like her, but I wasnt positive- it also sounded like it COULD be someone else, and I didn't think she could do THAT. she can hit some freaking INSANE notes!! that is pure crazyness. hehe. See, I think that kind of music fits her voice even better than the wicked music does, because she has an INCREDIBLE pop voice and can do insane things, but wicked just... required more ACTING and less riffs and vocal tricks :) but this song is one that you can really go crazy with the vocals, so it was PERFECT for her.

and dude... how is it that I dont think I've heard Sherie's song??? *goes to listen*

and I love dead end too by the way :P

Talk about your Broadway star power. Very cool cd!

This is a must have for the riff obsessed on this board. Besides Bean on "Love", there's Porter on Four Score and Orfeh, at the end of "Sunshine". A veritable riff-o-rama. It's a very good album, Grammy or not.
