Hair Performance in the Meatpacking District

Tonight's free performance of Hair in the Meatpacking District was terrific. The talented cast sang Aquarius, Black Boys, White Boys, The Flesh Failures, and Hair. Jonathan Groff sang the hell out of I Got Life. Can't wait to see the entire show at Central Park later this month.

They certainly are a good looking lot.
The voices, especially the women are outstanding.
They were performong on a makeshift stage,
I hope the staging is a bit looser at the Delacourt.
I hope this becomes a hipple, free love, kind of thing in the park this Summer.

i was in high school when i saw that show back in 1968. no one can recreate what people were like back then. it was so different then....live and let live. but it was fun to see and i'm glad it's being brought back. peace now!

I've never waited in line for Shakespeare in the Park tickets and I know Hair hasn't started yet, but for those of you who have done it for popular shows, how early do you think I should get there? If I go at 6 in the morning, will that be too late? Thanks.

OK, but I get the impression that CurtainPullDowner wasn't saying you need to be there at 4am to secure tickets, which is what AntonEgo's question was all about--surely it won't be necessary to be on line 9 full hours ahead of time for every show. I read CPD's post more as a..."fun" suggestion, though maybe I read it wrong.

Last year I got there once at 6AM and bummed out on a bad trip when I didn't get a ticket.

Thanks, SDav 10495. Maybe I should have worded my question differently. I was wondering about the latest I could get there and still get a ticket (I know there's no way to know for sure, but it's possible to make a rough estimate based on past experiences).

I've read that there will be full nudity at the performances. The park is supposedly posting a warning sign at the entrance.

The photos are incredible! Jonathan Groff looks like he's singing his face off. The entire talented ensemble seem to be truly loving every second of this incredible musical. I wish I wouldn't have had work, so I coulda attended in-person.

I can't wait to camp out and get those damn tickets. Bring the booze, the weed, a few magazines and call it a night/day until we get those tickets!

We should TOTALLY make an event of it. Anyone wanna join up? A group of BWW hardcore members wanting to tackle that mutha!
